[Martial Arts] 2013, A Journey to the Roots of Tai Chi in Chenjiagou
In 2013, I embarked on a journey of great significance—traveling to Chenjiagou in Wenxian, China, to explore the roots of Tai Chi. That year, I held a wish in my heart: to personally step into the birthplace of Tai Chi and seek wisdom from its source.
In Chenjiagou, I was fortunate to receive on-site guidance from the renowned Tai Chi master Wang Xian. Although I had not formally entered the school, this firsthand experience seemed to open a long-dormant time-space point of Tai Chi. It was not just a technical journey, but also a cultural and spiritual return.
Prior to that, I had already established a learning and communication relationship with Master Lin Wenhui, a direct disciple of Master Wang, lasting over ten years, which continues to this day.
I have always believed that only by personally walking through the ancestral home and feeling the land that nurtures the soul of Tai Chi can one truly understand that “Tai Chi is not just a routine, but a kind of rootedness.”
That trip to Chenjiagou became a landmark starting point in my Tai Chi life journey and laid the deepest foundation for the future establishment of the Australian International Qigong Tai Chi Academy.
