[Martial Arts] Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg for 23 Minutes
Today at noon, July 4, 2025, I achieved a new breakthrough! In my backyard on the grass, wearing a pair of soft-soled slippers, I stood on my left foot with the entire sole for a full 23 minutes.
This was not just standing still; it was a strict interpretation of "Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg"—my right leg was suspended in the air, my body upright and steady, with both hands holding a ball. Throughout the entire duration, I did not move or receive any external assistance. More importantly, this was my left foot, which I had always considered my "weaker foot." I am not a dancer or a gymnast; I am just someone who practices standing post to gradually reshape my body structure.
At first, my balance was poor, and I couldn't stand on my left foot for even a minute. But today, I managed to do it for 23 minutes on uneven grass and in a non-professional state, and although my foot was tired, my entire leg did not shake or feel sore, which was unimaginable in the past.
According to the information I found, most ordinary people cannot maintain a static position on both feet for long, let alone stand on one foot. Even for dancers or martial artists, exceeding 3 minutes in the Golden Rooster stance is considered the upper limit, and 10 minutes is rare, while 23 minutes has almost no literature or training records.
This is not merely a training achievement; it is a natural manifestation of the entire system of qi and blood circulation, muscle and bone restructuring, focused awareness, and the unity of body and mind. It is not about forcing it with willpower, but rather the qi actively supporting my body, allowing me to truly feel that "standing is also a skill." I recorded this day, not to show off, but to reaffirm: I have truly reversed my physical condition and transcended the common understanding of "standing."
