[Martial Arts] Self-Perception of Bone DensityAuthor: Jeffi Chao Hui Wu Time: 2025-7-19 Saturday, 5:42 AM ········································ [Martial Arts] Self-Perception of Bone Density Many people believe that bone density must be checked at a hospital, with DXA scans and T-score reports, as if bones only exist in images. However, over the years, through daily practice, standing meditation, and walking, I have clearly observed every subtle change in my body—I know better than any doctor whether my bones have become stronger. Bones are not cold structures; they are alive and responsive. If you practice deeply enough, your bones will tell you whether they are becoming stronger and more stable. My judgment relies not on equipment but on the "bone sensation" feedback from my own body. For example, I can now practice the Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg, standing with my eyes closed for ten minutes, and with my eyes open, each leg can stand for over forty minutes. It’s not about forcing myself or pursuing a goal; rather, as I stand, my bones stabilize on their own, my energy sinks down, and I feel as if I am being pulled by the earth's gravity. That feeling of solid ground beneath my feet, a straight spine, and a smooth skeletal structure is something that those who have never stood like this will never understand. To assess whether my bone density has increased, the most important indicators are seven bodily sensations—each derived from the awareness gained through practice, requiring no medical means, only your willingness to quiet your mind and listen to your body. First, the feeling of "heaviness in standing" has intensified. When I practice standing meditation or the Golden Rooster, the biggest change is not how long I can stand, but how much more stable I have become. It feels less like I am controlling something and more like the entire structure is naturally realigning. My center of gravity is not held up by muscles but is supported by my skeleton itself. That feeling of "bones actively bearing weight" can only be felt when bone density is sufficient to support the entire body. Second, the sensation of my soles pressing into the ground has become more tangible. Standing barefoot, I can clearly feel my arches spreading, and the soles of my feet sinking firmly into the ground. It’s not floating, nor is it soft; it feels as if roots are anchoring down. Previously, after wearing soft-soled shoes for too long, my arches collapsed, causing my feet to wobble with each step. Now, even when wearing thin-soled shoes, I walk steadily as if gliding along the ground. Third, walking has become lighter, and my steps are steadier. The most direct result of increased bone density is that my body no longer sways side to side. Now, I walk as if pulled by an invisible thread, each step steady, precise, and light. You might feel that your body has become lighter, but your weight hasn’t changed. That contrast of "light body, stable bones" is the true reflection of enhanced bone quality. Fourth, joint noises have decreased, and the force feels smoother. There was a time when my knees and ankles would often crack, especially when squatting or turning. Now, with increased bone density, those noises have diminished, replaced by a feeling of "force lines flowing smoothly." Once the structure is unified, bones do not resist flesh, and joints do not bear excessive force; everything becomes quiet. Fifth, I don’t get hurt from falls, and I recover quickly from twists. I’m not afraid of falling, but I’m not clumsy either. Recently, I slipped, and when I landed, it felt as if my entire skeleton rebounded like a spring, absorbing the impact instead of being stiff and prone to injury as before. If I twist my ankle, I can return to normal walking within an hour. This is the result of enhanced compressive strength in my bones, relying not on protective gear or medication, but solely on the bones themselves. Sixth, I feel no fatigue after standing; instead, I feel unblocked. Many people practicing standing meditation or one-legged standing feel tired after just a minute. But now, I can stand for over 40 minutes, and at the end, my energy flows more smoothly, and my legs feel strong and unblocked, as if my entire body has been re-energized. There’s no soreness or heaviness; instead, I feel light, not because I am strong, but because my skeleton can now bear the pressure that originally belonged to my muscles. Seventh, energy can enter the bones, and bones can contain energy. This sensation is unknown without practice. Once the energy enters the bones, there is a slight feeling of swelling, warmth, and heaviness, as if the bone membranes are being "charged." It’s not a fleshy sensation; it feels as if the bones are alive. In that moment, you realize—bones are not dead; they are alive, capable of breathing, and can become part of the circulation of energy and blood. I rely on no medication and have never undergone a bone density test, but I clearly know: over the past few years, my bones have become stronger. This is not evident from data but from the vitality of my body. I can stand, sink, stabilize, and bear weight—this is my "bone density report." While others look at instruments, I look at the ground beneath my feet; While others wait for reports, I listen to the echoes of my bones. Bones are not an abstract concept; they are within you, present in your daily standing, walking, squatting, and rising. As long as you are willing to practice, to stand, and to quiet your mind to perceive—you will be told in the most genuine way whether they are improving. True health has never been someone else's diagnosis; it is whether you can stand steadily. If you think this is unremarkable or not shocking, then please close your eyes and try to stand on one leg for ten seconds. Not by holding your breath, not by forcing yourself, but by relaxing and sinking down—can you do it? If you can’t, your bones have already quietly told you the answer; you just haven’t been listening. I don’t rely on lab reports or wait for results; I listen to my bones with my feet every day. While others leave their health judgments to doctors, I verify my life through myself. Source: http://www.australianwinner.com/AuWinner/viewtopic.php?t=696936 |
